"What happens if someone spills a 55 gallon drum of fuel oil on it?

Great question, maybe its diesel fuel, gasoline, hydraulic oil, whatever.    

Hypothetical:  In a catastrophic spill situation, you would see the contaminate go through the pervious and be isolated to an area of that volume. You would have to cut the concrete out, excavate the soils, contain, remove and haul off the deposit to a treatment facility and it would probably cost no less than $75,000.     In the same scenario on an impervious pavement, say asphalt, the spill would have ran down grade to an onsite drain inlet, through the storm pipes, into a City drainage matrix ending in a stream, river or bay. This could be followed to the "source point" and the fees for the clean up report alone would probably cost you $75,000 before the actual remedial work would begin.

Pervious Maintenance

Pervious concrete is possibly one of the least expensive pavements to maintain!

Properly placed and maintained, pervious concrete will last for decades.

Of all the common pavement materials, when it gets wet, it gets stronger.

If it gets full of sand, water still runs through it.

Unlike asphalt, gasoline and other hydrocarbons will not create potholes.

When the low cost of maintenance is figured in, pervious concrete is the least expensive paving material today.

We offer a package that will clean, flush and inspect your product as often as required. The end result is the certification that your project will be performing as originally designed, or better, for the next interval of operation.
